The history of the Vititow family and the transportation industry dates all the way back to the early 1900s when Virgil Vititow bought a flatbed truck in 1928 and hauled workers from Sulphur Springs to the Sulphur River to work on the levy during the great depression. He had 5 sons, C.F., Paul Ray, Charles, Jerry, and Larry who all at some point in life entered the trucking industry. Larry, the youngest son, bought his first truck in 1964 and Larry Vititow Trucking was born. In 1968 Larry had 3 trucks when he was called to serve in the U.S. Army from 68-70. His brother ran his trucks while he served and when he returned he bought, sold, and hauled grain, hay, and all types of agriculture products throughout the United States and Canada until 1980. In 1980 Larry received his for hire authority and started hauling refrigerated freight to 48 states and Canada. As years went by Larry started branching out into other divisions such as dry vans, flats, and step deck trailers to better serve his customer's needs.  In the 90s LVT branched out again into power only, LTL, and sensitive freight systems. In 1993 another generation of the Vititows joined the company when Larry's son, Michael Vititow, came to work in the family business. He got his start working in the shop at a young age to gain knowledge of trucks. When he was 18, he started running intrastate for his father and at 21 he started running coast-to-coast. At the turn of the century LVT grew yet again, acquiring the need for a wider variety of trailers for the expanding market to heavy haul service, container service, end dumps, and dedicated fleet systems. There was also a need for more management, so Michael started working in the office dispatching and overseeing the day-to-day operations of LVT. In 2008 Larry Vititow Trucking became a limited liability company. LVT continues to grow today and has plans to experience growth well into the future. With another generation of the Vititows growing up fast, LVT makes the commitment to be here for generations to come.
